A great story with interesting characters. It is meant for kids and that shows in places but even adults can involved in the story. Its my favourite cartoon series ever well worth the watching. One negative the picture quality in the first episodes is poor but that improves throught the seasons, clearly they had a low budget at first. So don't be turned off by the somewhat pixelated characters that soon gets better... Thats said I wish there was a HD version the story deserves it in my opinion.

This is on my most very favorite things ever made in the whole world list. I watched this at 33 years old and was itching to watch it as much as I could. So good and I am not into cartoons. And the Simpsons are nothing at all but dog dirt next to this.

Not just the greatest animated series to be produced, but possibly the best series full stop. Including Legend of Korra, that is, which, in my opinion, is better. While Avatar was written as a kids show that ended up appealing to adults, by the time Legend of Korra came around, the creators knew this, making it a show for adults that appealed to kids. Watch them both!
