Tragedy strikes a film production at the legendary Babelsberg Film Studios, while Charlotte prepares to take her exam to become an Assistant Detective and Greta gets ready for her trial.

Helga makes a desperate decision about her relationship with Rath. Meanwhile, Rath interviews Tilly who tells him everything she saw the day Betty was killed.

Wendt tries to persuade Greta to give a false confession at her trial. Elsewhere at Babelsberg, castings are taking place to find a replacement for Betty Winter and the Armenian approaches Rath with a proposal.

Rath's son Moritz becomes fascinated by the Hitler Youth, the murders of Betty and Tilly continue to be investigated and Charlotte discovers some family secrets after she receives some letters from a neighbour.

Moritz has a fervent desire to join the Hitler Youth, despite his mother's protests, Greta is back in the court ready to be sentenced and we discover what Nyssen's true intentions are.

Charlotte finds a doctor able to perform her sister's eye surgery. A lawyer, Litten, promises to take on Greta's case and Moritz moves back in with Rath giving him a letter from his mother Helga.

Evidence found on one of Tilly's belongings provides a vital clue, Litten appeals Greta's verdict and the cloaked figure strikes again sending Charlotte and Rath on a wild chase through the film studios.

News that the cloaked figure has been caught spreads and while Rath recovers from his injuries Helga reveals that she is pregnant and Charlotte goes to dangerous lengths to get the money to pay for Ilse's operation.

Moritz becomes more embroiled with his dangerous new friends, Charlotte raises half the money needed for the operation and Greta's fate has been decided.

Dr. Schmidt interviews Juliana at police HQ, Charlotte is on a mission to find Toni and Helga makes a decision about her future.

Erich is furious with Charlotte following Ilse's operation, Nyssen feels like his life has lost meaning and Charlotte makes a shocking discovery.

Charlotte and Toni get into a fight over her job working for Peter and the 'Uncle', Helga reveals the truth to Rath about Moritz and all hell breaks loose at the stock exchange when the markets go into free fall.
