Here we meet a quite different Birgitte Nyborg to the one we knew. She has left the world of politics; she is now a highly-paid speaker in business circles and sits on several major boards.

It is never easy to recover from a defeat; Birgitte is forced to recognise this after Jacob Kruse's victory in the battle for the leadership of the Moderates. However, Birgitte has not lost her political ambitions, and quietly chooses to start a new party.

Chaos and confusion rule in the party rooms of the New Democrats when Birgitte arrives for work. There are many people who in various ways have attached themselves to the party. Birgitte is met by Katrine and the party leadership, consisting of Bent, Nete, Erik and Jon. Katrine says that TV1 has invited them to participate in a panel discussion on the integration of ethnic minorities.

Birgitte is forced to recognise that ethics and economics can be difficult things to deal with when, in an attempt to position her new party on the Danish political scene, she begins to discuss the quality and animal ethics of Danish pig production.

Disagreement between the political parties is often both seen and heard. Unfortunately for Birgitte, there is also unrest in her own ranks when the sex trade is placed on the agenda.

The adversity that the New Democrats have been encountering turns into progress when they discover that they now have enough signatures to register for election. However, this brings new challenges to the party, since they lack candidates for the constituencies.

One piece of bad luck rarely comes alone, as Birgitte must acknowledge when Prime Minister Lars Hesselboe, to everyone's surprise, calls an election with fifteen months still to go in his government's term of office.

The mood is anything but good when Birgitte arrives at work. It is the day after TV1's party leader debate, in which Birgitte was unable to explain the New Democrats' economic policy, and suffered a minor breakdown on screen.

The date of the general election is fast approaching in Denmark, and this is occupying both the politicians and the media. Fortunately for Birgitte, she has been declared completely healthy, and can therefore return 100% to her political life.

It is election day in Denmark! Following her victory in the previous day's debate over the chairman of the Moderates, Jacob Kruse, Birgitte has high hopes for today's results. However, the election is not the only thing on her mind.
