As Walt deals with the aftermath of the Casa Tranquila explosion, Hank works to wrap up his investigation of Gus’ empire.

Walt and Jesse seek out an unlikely partner for a new business venture. The DEA follows up new leads in its investigation.

As Mike reassures Gus' former employees that they will be taken care of as long as they remain quiet despite pressure to cooperate with the police, Walt ignores Skyler's concerns and moves back in with his family as he prepares to restart the lab with Jesse. Though Saul isn't happy about it, Walt makes it clear that Mike is now a partner and will be handling the business end of their operation while he and Jesse take care of making the product. And after passing on several new locations Saul has come up with, Walt ingeniously decides to run a series of temporary labs at houses being serviced by Vamanos Pest, a small fumigation company whose owner and employees are no strangers to operating on the wrong side of the law. While he and Walt are finalizing the design of the mobile lab, Jesse's girlfriend Andrea and her son Brock interrupt their planning session. So, after successfully using the fumigation of their first house to cover up their work, Walt subtly convinces Jesse to end the relationship rather than try to keep their business a secret from Andrea. Meanwhile, Skyler's unexplained nervous breakdown at the car wash leaves Marie wondering what's going on behind closed doors at the White house. And when pressed for an answer, Walt keeps his sister-in-law at bay by telling her that Skyler's fragile state is a consequence of her extramarital affair with her former boss, Ted Beneke. Once their first batch has been cooked, packaged and sold, Walt and Jesse meet with Mike to settle up. The meth earned well over $1 million, but Walt is surprised by how much profit is eaten up by Mike's expenses for distribution, the fumigation company's cut and payments to ensure that Gus' former employees won't talk. And though Jesse reminds him that their share of the profits is far greater now than when Gus employed them, Walt still wonders if Mike is taking liberties with their money.

Although they are now the owners of 1,000 gallons of stolen methylamine, Walt, Jesse and Mike also have a big problem: what to do about the young boy that their accomplice Todd killed. Though Jesse can barely contain his anger, both Walt and Mike realize that they have to put the tragedy behind them and keep a close eye on Todd from now on. Meanwhile, DEA Agent Steve Gomez continues shadowing Mike – and is surprised to learn that he is on to their surveillance. And during a visit with her kids, Skyler is stunned and angered to discover that Walt told Marie about her affair with Ted. While Walt is getting increasingly comfortable with his role as the inheritor of Gus Fring's meth empire, the same can't be said for his partners. So when Walt returns to Vamonos Pest following another successful cook, he's surprised to find Mike and Jesse waiting for him. Breaking the news about the surveillance, Mike says that he has arranged to sell his share of the hijacked methylamine for $5 million and get out of the business. And while Walt agrees that Mike's involvement with a DEA investigation makes him too much of a liability, he's stunned when Jesse says that he's bailing, too. However, after the buyer Mike has lined up for won't close the deal as long as their partner remains in business with hundreds of gallons of methylamine to work with, Jesse begs Walt to listen to reason and sell out with them. But after Walt explains how he once sold his share in a business that is now worth billions, Jesse sees that he will never be persuaded. Though Jesse fails to close the deal, Mike ambushes Walt at Vamonos Pest and makes it clear that he won't take no for an answer. After insisting that the sale is going ahead and that everyone will get their fair share, Mike heads off to take care of some business, but not before tying up Walt to keep him from stealing the chemicals while he's out. Having convinced Jesse and Mike of his plan to keep all of the hijacked methylamine while also paying them the millions they are asking, all that's left for Walt to do is persuade the buyers they lined up to go along. Although their meeting gets off to a rocky start, Walt eventually gets the Arizona-based drug dealers to leave all the meth cooking to him in exchange for 35% of the profits for handling the distribution. But while Walt gets his new partners to pay Mike the $5 million he was promised for his share of the stolen chemicals, he hesitates when it comes to Jesse, asking him to stay and help with the transition instead. Meanwhile, after learning of a DEA search warrant for his apartment, Mike sets out to protect himself and the rest of Fring's legacy crew from the investigation. While Walt is confident his new plan will work, Jesse refuses to go along and asks for his $5 million, too. Despite using every argument he can think of to get Jesse to stay, Walt suddenly finds himself alone, so he hires Todd, the Vamonos employee who killed the witness to the train robbery. Despite Todd's lack of chemistry skills, Walt patiently walks him through every step of the operation in order to mold him into an able assistant. Meanwhile, when his performance as the head of the Albuquerque office is questioned, Hank promises to stop devoting so much time and money to the Fring investigation. But then he turns his attention to Dan Wachsberger, the lawyer Mike is using to pay off Fring's crew. Having been warned by Mike, Walt uses another emotional meeting with Hank to remove the bug he planted in his office. Upon overhearing Hank and Gomez discussing the fact that Dan is now cooperating with the DEA, Walt alerts Mike to the trouble ahead. Determined to avoid arrest, Mike abandons his granddaughter at the park where they were playing and immediately calls Saul for help. And because he and Jesse are there when the call comes in, Walt offers to deliver the weapons and...
