Gardiner is killed in a bomb explosion at the dead-drop - Forster and Hoffmann hide at Inês' place. U-949 is headed to Portugal.

Hoffmann retrieves some valuable information and longs to meet Wilhelm, but Inês goes instead. Thanks to CO Buchner U-949 destroys HMS Perseverance.

Hoffmann and Forster's plan succeed: Hoffmann returns to Germany as a hero. U-949 returns safely to Kiel, but Ehrenberg sees Greta with her husband.
