Probably one of my favorite recent shows. "Dave" is well-written and really very funny, but there are many facets to this show. The subtle use of multiple plot lines was a nice touch -- giving the characters and the show itself some depth. I also enjoyed all of the many cameos. Dave "Lil Dicky" shines as the shows star. Could you call the show immature? Yes, absolutely, and that is the point. If you are bothered by genital and flatulence jokes then you probably aren't the target demographic. That said, the show gets serious about issues like mental illness, toxic masculinity, relationships, and more. It's a slow burn, but "Dave" burns bright. I suggest giving it a real chance.

This shows is tonally inconsistent in the worst way possible. Portraying Dave as a slacker yet claiming he has ambition attempting to become the next big thing. The show outlines how ridiculous Dave and his expectations can be only to try and justify this ridiculousness as if it's not attempting to be comical about it and genuinely believes this ridiculousness is valid.

This show is for 9 year olds, not in the sense that it's made for a child but the humor is so immature only a child could find it funny. Dick jokes are funny every now and then, but when you have one that you spend 2 minutes telling and that two minutes happens to be the first two minutes of the pilot of your show, you should probably reconsider telling that joke.
