It doesn't sound like a series with a great appeal but this is the highlight of the year. So wonderfully crafted and a joy to watch as the characters grow and the plot gently expands. Some super one liners in amongst it all. The central pair of Lance and Andy is glorious. And the theme tune is the icing on the cake that is rekindled in many episodes as a subtle enhancement to the story. Superb.

A series about love. The brotherly love two men share for each other. The love for their passion of metal detecting and the love for those around them, Mr Crook struck comedic gold (no doubt with the obligatory gold dance) with this version of England rarely seen nowadays. Through their ups & downs Lance and Andy traverse the English countryside, heads down & coils to the ground whilst around them life constantly changes. A masterclass in humour from all concerned. Thank you to all involved.

Without a shadow of a doubt one of the funniest most British comedies ever written. The premise is dull as hell but the characters, their relationships, everything about the way it is written turns it into an absolute treat.
