In the series premiere, EJ's move back to NYC threatens Elisa's relationship with her new boyfriend. Tensions arise between the siblings, with mom Cookie trying to keep the peace. EJ gets a reality check when he realizes that the fashion industry is tougher to break into than he thought. The drama at Elisa's birthday party comes to a head with the arrival of her ex-boyfriend.

EJ plots career moves and meets with fashion industry players as Elisa's struggling relationship has her seek out family for support. Meanwhile, EJ plans a dating-themed mixer to bring everyone together, but Sanaz clashes with much of the group.

EJ begins a journey of self-discovery, exploring his own gender fluidity as Drew discovers his partying ways could lead to some serious health issues. Maya decides to introduce her controversial boyfriend to her conservative mother. Meanwhile Sanaz and Kyle come to blows over some nasty backstabbing.

EJ and Elisa take a trip to their father's hometown of Lansing, Michigan and learn some tough truths about the amount of hard work it takes to make it. Elisa struggles with the aftermath of meeting her birth family, and Maya flirts with temptation during a girls' night out in Brooklyn.

EJ takes his friends on a lavish trip to St Martin. Maya tries to repair her relationship with Trassh, but Sanaz gets in the way. Elisa is enjoying her new boy-toy, Jarrod while Drew realizes cutting back on drinking is easier said than done and spirals out of control.

In the season finale, EJ gets his first fashion opportunity since moving to New York, and celebrates his birthday with a glamorous trip to the Hamptons. Elisa tries to be single for the first time in years. Maya realizes her relationship with Trassh is on shaky ground. Cookie and Magic Johnson share details about the memoir Cookie has written.
