About this show

This competition/elimination series explores the world of special effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination which allows them to create amazing works of living art. The show incorporates effects make-up, including prosthetics, 3-D design, animatronics, sculpting, eye enhancers, puppeteering, casting, and molding. Each episode concludes with a contestant being sent home by a panel of expert and celebrity judges.

I first discovered this show after hearing that they were doing a Monster High challenge. Season 9 was the first season me and my mother watched and we really enjoyed it. We've been kinda all over the place in terms of watching the seasons, but we've been watching the episodes in order. 😉 Anyways, we're about halfway through the second season, and we definitely noticed a lot of differences, especially with the drama and tensity between contenstants, like To and Megan in s1 and Sue and everyone else in s2.

THE BEST TRUE REALITY SHOW... Of all the shows that should be on DVD, this is one of them! (Funny that SyFy does not offer this. There must be 100's of hours of deleted footage as well as interviews with Hosts/Judges, Contestants, and Guest Judges. Even Location info/updates) Each episode keeps me glued to the edge of my seat. The contestant act like adults, unlike other reality shows. Each one focused on producing, crafting, sculpting and designing to the best of their respective abilities, even if that means helping a fellow cast member. I currently don't have cable at home but make sure I purchased the season through Goggle play to catch every minute!

With all the reality allows that are out there right now, to find one that is not only original, but actually entertaining, is phenomenal! The editors are amazing and cut the show together in such a perfect way that you feel like you're not only getting to "know" the contestants but that you're also watching a cohesive series that makes you anticipate the next episode and mourn the end of each season. Keep up the excellent work Syfy!!
