It’s Haru vs Rin in a long awaited match. But the results shock everyone. Meanwhile, the pieces begin to fall into place for the revival of the Iwatobi Swim Club. With the help of Rin’s sister, Gou, their club may finally come to life!

In order to compete, the Iwatobi Swim Club needs one more member and Nagisa has his sights on the athletic Rei—who is currently part of the track team. But Nagisa refuses to give up and seeks different ways to recruit him.

A daring rescue and a search for motivation. The boys come together and share their reason and drive to swim. But when Rei brings up Makoto’s odd behavior, a past is revealed.

Prefecturals are just around the corner but the boys of Iwatobi are getting better and ready to compete! Meanwhile, Rin faces his own reasons for swimming as he preps for the upcoming tournament.

With the prefecturals over, the boys of Iwatobi Swim Club take pride in the progress they’ve made together. And with time to relax, it’s festival time! In order to avoid an awkward situation, Nagisa makes Rei follow Rin around to keep him away from Haru!

It’s time to start training again and this time with help from Coach Sasabe! But there’s a bit of unease as Rei feels left out not knowing the rest of the team’s history with Rin. Frustrated, Rei expresses his feelings and Haru opens up.

Finally in the know of the history with Rin, Rei goes to Samezuka Academy to talk with him. The night before regionals, Rin finally expresses his feelings about the relay to Rei. And finally, Samezuka announces their relay lineup!

To make it to nationals, the boys of Iwatobi must win! But the closer the tournament gets, the more nervous they become. Whereas Rin just grows more and more irritated. When it’s time for them to shine—will Iwatobi get the gold?!
