A thoughtful, unbiased and open exploration of trans and gender nonconforming people and the science behind why such people exist. It discusses those who know who they are even at a very young age and the importance of supporting them; as well as those who have transitioned later in life, revealing that it never too late for someone to become their real self. Resources for family and other support is also discussed. Finally, the film touches on the prejudice, hatred and violence directed toward trans and gender nonconforming people by those who cling to their ignorance and bigotry. The follow-up round table discussion on the Nat Geo Facebook page is also excellent and well worth watching. If you are looking for an introduction to help you learn more about trans and gender nonconforming people, this would be a good film to start with.
