Hawking takes three ordinary people on a journey of discovery; to show them how inspiring it can be to think like a genius. They face a series of exciting challenges, each designed to steer the volunteers to an amazing realization. The audience will want to play along and see if they can think like a genius too. In this episode the volunteers take on some extraordinary tasks. To start, they visit a lake in Nevada. Using a helicopter, a boat and a powerful laser, can they prove the earth is round – and even measure it? Next they head off to the iconic Blackrock desert to try and get a grip on the massive scale of the solar system. We learn that our galaxy is full of billions of stars, and the sun, the center of our solar system, is just one of them. What’s more, our galaxy is just one of billions of similar clusters in the universe, which stretch out in every direction. Along the way the show also explains how the great geniuses of history reached their conclusions about our place in the universe. We travel to Egypt, California and London’s Science Museum to find out how these breakthroughs were made, and how important they still are. At the end of the film, an epic CGI sequence reveals the amazing scale of the universe. We have truly thought like geniuses...
