1 Inverness to the Isle Of Skye

Following single track 'military' roads from one side of the stunning Scottish Highlands to the other Peter and Chris retrace the route of the 1930s petrol head pioneers into some of the UK's most extreme driving country. Along the way, they fire up a 1903 'Dog Cart', take a spin in a vintage 3-wheel Rally Car up the notorious Inverfarigaig Cork Screw and cross over to Skye on the oldest car ferry of its kind in the world.

2 London to Land's End

Peter and Chris set out from London to motor down the entire length of the A30, originally an 18th century coach road that runs for nearly 300 miles of ever-changing English countryside before it reaches Cornwall and Land's End. Along the way they recreate Britain's first recorded car journey in a 1900 Georges Richard, climb about one the UK's first haulage trucks and recreate the roadside picnics of Peter's youth.

3 Cardiff to Snowdonia

About this show

Christopher Timothy and Peter Davison go back to the Roaring Twenties to relive the Golden Age of Motoring. Getting behind the wheel of the 1936 designed Morgan 4/4 and sticking two fingers up to SAT NAVS, they set out on a series of road trips along some of Britain's most beautiful vintage roads. Taking inspiration from old travel guides of the day and meeting up with passionate petrol heads keeping the nation's motoring heritage alive, they experience the thrills of the era when Britain first fell in love with the motor car and when the open road was a gateway to adventure and exploration.
