Knuckle and Shoot are lying in wait for Cheetu. But just as Cheetu is about to approach them, he suddenly changes direction and disappears. Meanwhile, Killua and Gon sense that someone is following them again.

The assassin Ikalgo, an octopus-type Chimera Ant, attacks Killua with his Nen Abilities. Killua captures him and tells Ikalgo that he’ll let him live if he divulges his ally’s abilities.

Gon tries to bond with a Chimera Ant called Meleoron, even though it’s risky for a Nen user to reveal his abilities. Still, Gon wants to gain Meleoron’s trust. Meleoron reveals that his goal is to defeat the King of the Chimera Ants…

The King is killing time as he awaits the selection. He calls upon masters of shogi and go and defeats every one of them. The next person he calls is a blind girl by the name of Komugi, who is the world champion of Gungi, the national game of East Gorteau.

Knov is making his way to the palace. The Chimera Ants Leol and Flutter follow him to try to determine his abilities, but they lose sight of him. Meanwhile, after being hindered by Cheetu’s Nen Abilities, Morel prepares for a counterattack. As the fierce battles between Chimera Ants and Hunters continue, the King and Komugi continue to play Gungi.

The King is annoyed and confounded after meeting Komugi, the unfathomable Gungi world champion. But at the same time, he is having fun. He proposes a wager with Komugi. If Komugi wins, he’ll give her whatever she wants. If she loses, he wants...

Knov infiltrates the palace. His goal is to place the exits for his ability, the Fourth Dimensional Mansion. But just as he is about to climb the Central Staircase he is stopped in his tracks by a heavy and ominous aura seeping from the floor above.

Morel has been chased into an underground church by the lion-type Chimera Ant, Leol. Leol activates his Nen Abilities and produces a giant wave and a surfboard. Morel then reveals that those are his friend’s abilities. Furious, he begins his counterattack.

Gon and Killua have gained new allies and prepare to charge into battle. Meanwhile, the King and Komugi continue to play Gungi. Shaiapouf notices how exhausted Komugi is and suspects that it’s only a matter of time before she loses

With only one more day remaining until the selection, Gon, Killua and Ikalgo go over their strategy. With five million lives at stake, will the Hunter extermination team be able to defeat the King and the Chimera Ants?

Welfin, a wolf-like Chimera Ant, has realized that someone has infiltrated the palace. He notices that secretary Bizeff and Palm have disappeared and searches for them. With his sharp sense of smell, he tracks down the intruders.

Gon, Killua, Knuckle, Shoot, Morel and Meleoron have gathered inside Knov’s Fourth Dimensional Mansion. Two minutes earlier; two lights fall from the sky towards the Republic of East Gorteau. Neferpitou is the first to notice that something is coming. The battle between the humans and Chimera Ants is about to begin.

Zeno and Netero’s sudden attack throws the palace into confusion. At the bottom of the central staircase, Gon, Killua and Shoot run into Youpi, who is blocking access to the King. Concerned for the King’s safety, Pitou and Pouf hurry to the King’s side.

Gon and his friends have charged into the palace. Youpi transforms and splits up the group with his attack. Morel lets Shoot and Knuckle handle things while he heads for the King.

The King faces off against Netero and Zeno. Zeno releases his Nen aura, Dragon Head, toward the King. The King keeps his back facing toward Zeno’s attack but doesn't try to dodge it.

In the basement of the palace, Ikalgo desperately searches for Palm. Meanwhile, Meleoron has used his Perfect Plan to make Knuckle completely invisible. Knuckle suddenly appears before Youpi to fight him head on.

Zeno’s cryptic words to Killua and Gon becomes clear when they reach the tower. Pitou is using his ability Doctor Blythe, on Komugi who is on the brink of death. When Gon sees Pitou, he releases fierce aura, ready to fight. But Killua senses something usual about Pitou, who shows no hostility and pleads with Gon to wait.

Shoot lingers between life and death as Knuckle carries him away from Youpi. Feeling the need to lay a punch on Youpi to avenge his friend Shoot, Knuckle decides to take on Youpi once more.

Youpi grows annoyed at Knuckle’s ability, so he pretends to be angry to make it look like he’s about to go berserk. Meanwhile, using Gyo, Ikalgo reads Palm’s hidden message, which says that she has gone to the palace and to assume that she is dead if she does not respond before the start of the mission.

Youpi is impressed by the extermination team’s abilities and acknowledges their strength. Meanwhile, Ikalgo hides beneath a truck that was blown up by Bloster. He sees an opportunity to eliminate Bloster when the elevator housing him doesn't ascend.

Morel finally takes action. He places his giant pipe on his shoulder, and destroys the cocoon before him. As he suspected, Pouf is not inside.

Gon waits for Neferpitou to finish healing Komugi with Doctor Blythe. Meanwhile, near the central tower, Menthuthuyoupi has transformed his body by learning to control his anger, while Morel uses the last bit of his strength to create clones of Knuckle. The battle finally advances to the final stage!

The battle between the King and the Chairman is finally about to begin.
