First season is slow building the characters, though I loved it, but by Season 2 this show is one of the great fantasy shows. Each episode at some point takes you back through Macleod's past, to see how his moral code has evolved over the centuries. He's conflicted - he's pained... He has to turn on his centuries old friends if they represent a threat to order. The lives of mortals are precious and you watch Macleod make difficult decisions to preserve that fact. It's a great show - Adrian Paul is perfect.

Phenomenal tv show. Amazing character development and plot development. Big characters come and go like Game of Thrones. Season finale episodes in the middle of seasons.
