In Montana, the Raney's help Beth and Mike Ettinger who live in an abandoned ghost town where many previous homesteaders failed. Survival is a battle on this homestead that is stalked by a mountain lion and void of any livestock, water or food.
2 Under Siege

The Raney's attempt to help the Zabec family in Virginia. With pigs destroying the homestead, predators killing livestock, and a huge oak threatening their cabin, the Raney's must convince them that their free-range dream is killing their homestead.

The Deeters are dog-mushers with a homestead on the edge of disaster. Bears dine on the dog food and the forest around them is a deadly tinder box. The Raneys must push them to make drastic changes, but discover the Deeters don't trust outsiders.

In the Nevada desert, the Kondors homestead has turned to dust. The Raney's discover rattler infested trailers, searing heat and sand storms but when Marty finds the Kondors have no water, he gambles all to save the dying homestead.

Marty, Matt and Misty Raney help the Russell family struggling on a failing homestead in the forests of Pennsylvania. During the biggest storm of the century, the family faces a food shortage with no hunting skills and a cabin on the brink of collapse.

The Raney's rush to a failing homestead in Colorado where they find husband Don makes a 40 mile mountain commute each day, leaving his wife alone, terrified to leave the house because it's surrounded by bears and mountain lions.

This is my FAVORITE kind of tv.. i love to watch people living in the arctic and i really enjoy seeing things being built on the fly ... its so interesting to see the problem solving aspect of it all .. Although alot of it is common sense . I mean homesteads should always have a root cellar, barns for the animals .. bear proofing ect ect the list goes on,i dont understand where these greenhorns think they are living? they should watch an episode of life below zero.. and guaranteed there will be an answer to their issue.. Also this guy thats doing the helping with his family ..was on a show called something like the great Alaska race. Where teams of 3 raced across Alaska with the bare minimums of supplies. He was definitely a crowd fav , but i dont think his team won,or maybe it did .. i must revisit that show.. Anyway.. GREAT SHOW!!! GIVE ME MORE

Thank you everyone involved in this program and production. I have learned so very much from each episode. I am a first time property owner.(less than 90days) As for the Rienes you are a gifted family as a whole. You people are so focused it's beyond believe. Along with giving back from a lifetime of hardships. Everyone involved in this program/production. Re-enforces the Family Structure and Family Unity. It seems as if every episode offers a wealth of knowledge. I am a humble southern man.
