About this show

Humans is set in a parallel present, where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a Synth – a highly-developed robotic servant, eerily similar to its live counterpart. In the hope of transforming the way his family lives, father Joe Hawkins purchases a Synth against the wishes of his wife, only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences.

a: this IS science fiction at it's finest; IF you watched the Swedish original Äkta Maniskör(Real Humans) that is. Americanization once again proves that nations lack of creative talent in drama, scripting and story telling by dumbing down one of the most intelligently written pieces of television drama I have seen in DECADES, reducing its major themes and characters to hollow shells of their Swedish originals, because the advertisers don't want it to seem like there's actually any hope, learning or profit in intellectual pursuit for its own sake. Ars Gratia Artis was also thrown out the door by the inclusion of possibly the subtlest, cruelest and pervasive use of product placement yet seen following the Citizen Watch debacle of Moonraker. Bitterly disappointed in: script, acting, believability as an alternative future (take away the 'present' and future is all you have left, and this garbage was a waste of CGI resources that could have been used to render Jar-Jar Binks in 3D like everyone really wants, so you can pilot in a Tie Fighter and blow him away.) Oh grow up already.it's only MY opinion, go form one of your own instead of being offended by anything I might say.

The Swedish version was & still is the best. but this series stands up ok on its own. yes it's different, but if you view it without bias, it is still a pretty decent show. It does lack the Swedish finesse, but was still worth watching. If you haven't seen the original; do yourself a favour & seek it out. after you finish with this one.

Drama, not sci-fi so some plot parts are disappointing if you fully understand laws of robotics for example. However as a drama with this robotic twist, it can be an intriguing show.
