Joey

Charming and single Joey Tribbiani (series star MATT LeBLANC) embarks on his own and moves from New York City to Hollywood, hoping to truly make it as an actor. Joey says good-bye to a time when his friends were his family and welcomes the chance to turn his family into his friends. After accidentally ending up in Dallas instead of taking a connecting flight to California, Joey finally arrives in Los Angeles and reunites with his high-strung older sister Gina (series star DREA de MATTEO), a strong and sexy hairdresser. While Gina shows Joey the apartment she arranged for him, her genius 20-year-old son, graduate student Michael (series star PAULO COSTANZO), who literally is a rocket scientist, arrives. Although Joey lacks book smarts, he more than compensates with his people skills, making him the best new friend his nephew could ask for.

Michael moves into Joey's apartment to seek independence from his mother, Gina. Joey decides to take his nephew out to teach him how to meet women. Meanwhile, Michael and Joey learn that all is not as it seems with their attractive neighbor, Alex.

Since moving from New York City to Hollywood, Joey has found it difficult to meet new friends. Gina suggests that Joey and Michael host a party in their apartment and invite all of the residents from their building. Michael asks his competitive college friend Seth (recurring guest star SIMON HELBERG - "A Cinderella Story") to attend the party, thinking that he'll refuse--but Michael panics when Seth announces he will be bringing his girlfriend, and now Michael must conjure up a date of his own.

When Joey finds it difficult to meet women in L.A., he joins Michael's book club. Meanwhile, after discovering that a female cosmetology school classmate is now a celebrity hairstylist, Gina decides she deserves the glamorous life, too.

After auditioning for several plays, Joey is disappointed when he receives only the understudy roles. But when the lead actors in different plays get sick, he must figure out how he can be in several places at once. Meanwhile, Michael and Joey find out that an apartment is for rent in their complex, and they quickly try to hide the rent sign to prevent Gina from wanting to move in. Former "Friends" series star DAVID SCHWIMMER directed the episode.

Joey meets his acting nemesis, Brian Michael David Scott (recurring guest star BOB ODENKIRK -"Mr. Show," "The Larry Sanders Show"), who relentlessly makes a fool out of Joey at auditions. At home, overbearing Gina finds out that Michael is sick and becomes excited that she will get to take care of her son--much to his dismay. During Michael's illness, Joey stays at Gina's house and inadvertently meets her boyfriend.

Gina struggles with nepotism at the salon when her boss hires his untalented daughter to take many of Gina's regular clients. After hearing how unhappy Gina is at work, Joey and Michael plan to help her open a salon. Meanwhile, much to Joey's dismay, Alex's husband, Eric (MATT LETSCHER - "Good Morning Miami"), finally returns home.

Joey gets excited when the girl he was enamored with in high school, Donna (recurring guest star KELLY PRESTON - "Jerry Maguire," "What a Girl Wants"), visits Gina for the weekend. When Joey finds out that Donna is getting divorced, he hopes he'll pair up with her. Meanwhile, Michael finds old videos of himself when he was a kid and discovers that he was actually good at baseball. Part one of a two-part episode

When Donna's (recurring guest star KELLY PRESTON) ex-husband wants to reconcile, she is conflicted about her feelings for Joey and her history with her former husband. Donna fails to tell Joey her concerns on their date, so Gina reveals to her brother that Donna might reunite with her ex. Meanwhile, Alex learns the meaning of "hot girls get stuff for free." When he finds out that there are many Northwestern University graduates in Hollywood that help one another get entertainment jobs, Joey pretends he attended the school and lands a great audition for a new television show. Unfortunately, instead of auditioning for the young, attractive male lead character, Joey is surprised to be asked to read for the father of a rebellious teenage girl. Gina must help her brother overcome the awkwardness of auditioning with a very sexy young woman who might play his daughter in the show.

When a celebrity judge for a Las Vegas beauty pageant suddenly cancels, Joey is asked to replace him. Gina and Alex want to take a road trip with Joey, and the two women kidnap Michael from school and force him to join them as well. While at the casino, Michael reluctantly uses his math skills to teach Gina how to play blackjack using his math skills.

It's Joey's first day at his new job on the television series "Deep Powder," but after reading a confidential script of an upcoming episode, he begins to worry that his character is going to be killed off. Meanwhile, the Tribbiani clan attempts to re-create a perfect East Coast Christmas in Los Angeles and faces a variety of difficulties, the first being the sunny weather. Lauren (recurring guest star LUCY LIU), the executive producer of "Deep Powder," orders Joey to stop dating his fellow star Katie (recurring guest star DANNEEL HARRIS). But when Joey refuses to heed the warning, a problem arises. Meanwhile, Gina teaches Alex how to bake her famous lasagna. But does the student's version surpass the teacher's?

When Joey is told he can bring only one guest to the premiere of his new series, "Deep Powder," he must choose between Gina, Alex and Michael. He decides the best way to pick his date is to have a speech competition among the three. After hearing all the speeches, Joey is still unable to decide so he is forced to figure out a way to get more tickets. Recurring guest star LUCY LIU appears as Lauren.

Now that he's a big celebrity on a hit TV show, Joey discovers that he can hire a personal assistant and begins the interviewing process. Michael is frustrated when his friend Seth (recurring guest star SIMON HELBERG) decides to patent an idea by himself even though they created the concept together.

Joey gets the chance of a lifetime to be a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" when a major movie star cancels her appearance. However, on his way to the studio, Joey becomes increasingly worried he won't arrive on time. When a big truck overturns on the freeway, Joey really starts to panic. JAY LENO guest stars as himself.

After Bobbie advises Joey to be charming with a magazine reporter, he unexpectedly makes a date with the journalist. Joey is later horrified when he realizes he has just made plans on the most romantic day of the year--Valentine's Day.

Joey gets invited to present an award at the Daytime Soap Awards and finds that it's more difficult than it looks. Meanwhile, Michael unsuccessfully tries to work out at the gym.

Mary Teresa (CHRISTINA RICCI - "Sleepy Hollow," "The Opposite of Sex")--Joey and Gina's wealthy sister who wants to be a socialite--visits and constantly reminds her siblings how rich she is with her snobby attitude. Meanwhile, Michael is unknowingly being courted by a popular young woman.

Joey is attracted to his new female neighbor, Sara (recurring guest star MÄDCHEN AMICK - "ER," "Twin Peaks"), who is more than capable of holding her own during their dates.

Joey witnesses Alex's husband, Eric (recurring guest star MATT LETSCHER), kissing another woman. And, annoyed that Sara (recurring guest star MÄDCHEN AMICK) is dating someone else, Joey tries to be a "sensitive guy."

Joey struggles through a love scene with his ultimate temptation, CARMEN ELECTRA (herself), even though he's made a commitment to his girlfriend, Sara (recurring guest star MÄDCHEN AMICK).

Joey's girlfriend, Sara (recurring guest star MÄDCHEN AMICK), says she loves him, and he doesn't respond. Meanwhile, Michael and Gina have brunch with Michael's new girlfriend, Lorraine (DEBORAH THEAKER - "A Mighty Wind"), who is older than he described.

Gina finally confronts Bobbie about the agent's strange attraction to Michael. And Alex realizes her true feelings for Joey.
