Katie Morag has two beloved Grandmothers. She loves them both equally but they couldn't be more different to each other. Katie Morag notices that her Grannie Island doesn't have any beautiful jewellery like Granma Mainland does, so she decides to try and get her some, although she is disappointed to realise that buying it will take quite a lot of saving up for. Luckily she comes across a mystery map, which shows her where to find treasure, though not necessarily the kind she was expecting to find!

Katie Morag shares a birthday with BOTH of her grandmothers, and being in early May, it sometimes coincides with the May Storms that bring lashing wind and rain to the island. This year there was indeed a storm, meaning that Katie Morag's best laid birthday plans were in jeopardy.

My 2-year-old son, my partner and I all adore this masterpiece of children's television. Beautiful settings, richly-drawn characters and the best child actor on TV. Who could ask for more?
