Louis Theroux travels to Dallas to infiltrate the world of the born-again Christian evangelists, and quickly finds himself taking part in a rousing television broadcast and a street crusade, complete with guiatr and tambourine. However, he remains unconvinced as to whether he can be saved, even by the angels who, according to his interviewees, are tasked with this job on Earth.

In Palm Springs he has encounter with self-styled 'warrior monk' and alien killer Thor Templar who has notched up 20 alien kills over the years. He then makes makes contact with Ron and Shari from the Centre for the Study of ET Intelligence and joins them on a 'extraterrestrial' field trip.

About this show

The very British Louis Theroux journeys through the fringes of American society. Born-again religious fanatics in Texas make several attempts to save Louis' soul before he escapes to Colorado to meet those groups who are monitoring the activities of countless alien UFOs. Louis then tries to break into the porn industry in California. Finally Louis travels to Idaho which is home to a growing number of right-wing patriots and militia enthusiasts who are preparing for what they firmly believe is inevitable global catastrophe.
