Will give it 1 or 2 more episodes to get better... cuz I don't know how that pilot got picked up. The characters were weak, as was the storyline. Also, the way they showed his "skills" seemed like something a nine year old would know how to do. And, I'm sorry, but the main actor looks like a teenager, so I don't know how to take him seriously. His initial romantic interest looks like a proper twenty-something, but it seemed as though she was making out with a child, cuz he's got such a baby face, creepy.

Original series was unique, charming. A breath of fresh air. This one is hardly recognizable other than reusing the names and the fact that something will be "Macgyvered" each episode. Sadly the ADD-driven overlay kills some of the mystery that kept the audience guessing in the original. 2 episodes in so far and it feels like any other show with the exception that it played on the positive memories of the original.

I went into this knowing it'd be different from the original series. No changing that. What I didn't expect was a discount spy thriller hoping to blend Burn Notice and MacGyver, and taking the worst from both. The show lacks in charm and imagination. MacGyver is no longer shown to be funny, charming, or clever. He never thinks about solutions, we just see it midway through the problem. No thought or exploration.
