Though a bit of a rascal, Magnum investigates his cases with skill, deftly moving about an island that is luxurious, exotic, and sometimes dangerous. Successfully blending doses of action, mystery, irreverent comedy, and poignant drama, this series became one of the biggest hits in television history and afforded Selleck and his characterization iconic status.
