When his families past brutally returns, Russian exile Alex Godman is drawn into the murky world of international crime. Having spent his life trying to escape the shadow of his father's criminal past and running a successful London hedge fund, Alex suddenly finds himself having to protect his family and fight for all he has worked for. Alex reluctantly joins Semiyon in Prague as he ventures on a plan that will hugely cost Vadim's business interests. Alex is asked to put his own business in danger as the pressure mounts, and Dmitri's grief takes increasing grip as he spirals out of control, leaving the family feeling lost. Meanwhile, a young girl lands in Cairo and embarks on a very different journey.

As Alex comes to terms with the repercussions of his actions, and Vadim closes in, Rebecca meets a mysterious figure who reaches out to Alex with an interesting proposition. Vadim starts to slowly close in on the Godman family and gather intelligence, as Alex gets increasingly concerned for his family's safety he enlists professional security. Vadim's associates pressure him into brokering peace. He flies to Istanbul to meet with Semiyon and Alex. On his return home Alex visits Rebecca and learns of the terrible price of having immersed himself into the world of crime. Alex flies to Moscow, ready to do business with the Federal Security Services, but is completely unaware of Natasha's death. Ilya and Vadim lie in wait for him, but with their associates keeping an eye on them they can't act immediately. Dmitri and Oleg do all they can from afar but Alex has to pull on all his resources, will he survive and what will the price be?
