An exploration of the authenticity and societal impact of the award-winning hacker drama Mr. Robot.

About this show

"Mr. Robot" follows a young programmer named Elliot who suffers from a debilitating anti-social disorder and decides he can only connect to people by hacking them. Like a superhero, he wields his hacking powers as a weapon to protect the people he cares about from those who are trying to hurt them. Ultimately, Elliot finds himself at the intersection between a cybersecurity firm he works for, his alterego hacking exploits at night and an underworld hacking collective trying to recruit him to help bring down the one percent.

Every other show I keep up with on Google, update within 12 hours of original air. Mr Robot has not been updated quickly enough, still waiting almost 48 hours for the latest episode. Edit: Just got last week's episode, a week after it's release...not to mention the season finale. Very disappointed actually.

Disappointing. Blatant in-your-face leftist propaganda in the (thin) guise of a TV show. On the positive side, tech is plausible and interesting. However, the directors are trying so hard to shove their message down your throat, that the show becomes annoying very quickly.

If Fight Club and Catcher in the Rye had a hacktivist lovechild it would be Mr. Robot. All the angsty, vitriol fueled monologues against the status quo of Holden Caulfield and "plot twists" reminiscent of Tyler Durden, but with the modern tribute to Anonymous.
