The boys plan a stag-do for Reggie, and Sloane has a second encounter with Robin, under less-than-ideal circumstances. Sloane's offer to help fix Robin's tap inadvertently leads to a first date of sorts, that concludes with mixed results and a valiant battle with a cafe toilet. Meanwhile, Sloane has been reinstated as a supply teacher, leading to another round with a couple of class bullies. A well-intentioned sympathy card leads to tragic results.

He's been sacked from his accounting job, his wife Janet has left him to "find herself", and he is beginning to despair of his lot in life. Most evenings are now spent down the pub, drowning his sorrows with childhood mates Ross, Reggie and Beans. But with a potential job opportunity on the horizon and the phone number of free-spirited American girl, Robin, following a chance encounter in a hardware shop - could Mr Sloane's luck be about to change?
