I watched this miniseries YEARS ago, when it first aired. I wasn't sure if I'd love it as much now as I did then but now I know. Some things never lose their appeal or level of outstanding. I'm glad I own it now.

The show itself, as all others have said, is simply fantastic. However, I purchased all fifteen episodes to watch with my father, who is hard of hearing, and the subtitles are severely delayed, upwards of 10-15 seconds and the characters speaking remain unnamed. Those that would be watching with subtitles beware as sadly it's impossible to enjoy this way. Despite this, being down 50 bones, with a disappointed pops, the show is still fantastic. Five stars easy with decent subtitling.

One of my all-time favorite releases of any medium (film, TV, etc.). Watching this in HD is a dream come true. Never has North and South looked more gorgeous than it does here on Google Play. I don't know how this release flew so far under the radar considering how many fans there are of the series. But I'm stoked to have it in my collection, and I recommend it to all fans of the series and of great television in general, especially in hi-def. It has never looked better.
