Lexie Noble's stable family life appears to be perfect from the outside. Living in Edinburgh with her accountant husband, Jared, in a house they share with their two small children, she's secure enough to sweat the small stuff – like whether their au pair is up to scratch. But this façade comes crashing down when Jared is attacked in the street, and an investigation is opened. As she begins working with the police to establish what happened, she's forced to face unthinkable truths as links to the notorious gangster Cal Morris emerge.
