A brilliant show piece! The acting is stellar. The period is on point, with stunning costumes. Storylines are exceptional, always keeping you on edge. You develop real relations with all the characters, keeping you vested even during the long dialogue scenes. Beautiful series well worth the watch.

This is up there with my all time favourites. It is so original and Cillian Murphy is brilliant . Never thought I'd love tv about gangsters, but the characters stories are so moving. It's not all guns and action- it's a love story too, about family, and finding something to live for after the war.

An eye-opening look into unrecognised post-traumatic stress of WWI veterans and the seedy underworld of horse racing in early 20th century Birmingham. Mind-blowing performances, outstanding sets, costuming and soundtrack and brilliant writing. Love this series!
