A show that found itself a bit too late, and will forever be lost in a "fan favorite" status. The first episode is a forced walk through quicksand as the writing attempts to introduce characters and its plot. Top it off with jokes that try too hard to appeal to everyone and you have a very lackluster start to a show with such a great premise. It would appear that the writing team was censored for greater appeal, and I feel this rocky start is what led to the show's eventual cancellation. The next episode isn't much better, but starting with episode 3 it seems the writing team was finally allowed to be themselves. The humor was unapologetic, the characters finally fell into their roles, and the stories began to provide a better look into the wonderfully whimsical setting. Unfortunately, TV is a warzone these days and the first few episodes usually hold the highest ratings, leading networks to judge a show's success on those numbers alone. This show is a fun, short romp with some rewatch value: assuming you avoid the first ones.

If you have any love for the DC multiverse, go ahead and spend four dollars, and get the last two amazing episodes, "No Consequence day" and "Win Luthor Draw" and then you can decide if you want the rest. Most of it's cute, but those last two episodes are golden. When you buy TV shows by the episode, whatever you spend comes out of the price for the whole season. I would really love to see these episodes added to HBOMax's DC Universe collection.

Highly underrated! If you have a love of nerdery and a sense of humor, I think you'll love this show. Sooooo good! I'm quite sad it didn't go on longer, but I suppose them's the kicks when you're not a Marvel spin-off or a sexy dating show to appeal to the masses.
