Reyka becomes convinced that the murders are the work of a potential serial killer and later stakes out a suspect. Meanwhile, Speelman asks Reyka to retract her parole statement in exchange for secret information on Lucy.

While trying to save a traditional healer's life, Reyka's own life is saved by a mysterious hooded man. The healer's employers, the Tyrone family, soon find themselves pulled into the case with tensions arising within the household.

Reyka feels like she doesn't know who to trust when suspicions fall onto the police team, but a break in the case strengthens her relationship with Nandi. Speelman's game with Reyka intensifies.
