The Cape

Fueled by a desire to reunite with his wife Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) and son Trip (Ryan Wynott), former police officer Vince Faraday (David Lyons) becomes "The Cape" -- his son's favorite comic book superhero -- and takes the law into his own hands to battle criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City. Faraday is joined by Max Malini (Keith David), the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers, who mentors Faraday and trains him to become "The Cape," as well as investigative blogger Orwell (Summer Glau) who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City. Together, they must battle Ark corporation billionaire Peter Fleming (James Frain) -- The Cape's nemesis -- who moonlights as the twisted killer "Chess." Also starring are Vinnie Jones (as Scales), Martin Klebba (Rollo), Dorian Missick (Marty), Izabella Mike (Raia) and Anil Kumar (Ruvi).

The Cape (David Lyons) must battle Chess (James Frain) and his latest accomplice Cain -- a/k/a Chef (guest star Raza Jaffrey) -- as they try to take down the Patrick Portman (guest star Richard Schiff), the Secretary for the Bureau of Prisons, in an attempt to take over Palm City's jails. After narrowly escaping death, The Cape must rely on Orwell (Summer Glau), Max Malini (Keith David) and the circus gang to nurse him back to health and then help him save Patrick before it is too late. Also starring are Vinnie Jones (as Scales), Martin Klebba (Rollo), Dorian Missick (Marty), Izabella Mike (Raia) and Anil Kumar (Ruvi).

When Gregor Molotov (guest star Thomas Kretschmann), an old friend of Max Malini (Keith David), comes to town in search of who is in possession of the cape, Vince (David Lyons) must fight to save the people who took him in. Meanwhile, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) is back to work in the public defender's office, where she encounters Palm City's corruption first hand. Peter Fleming (James Frain) and Marty Voyt (Dorian Missick) continue their tireless pursuit to find out Orwell's (Summer Glau) true identity. When "The Cape" (David Lyons) tips off Dominic Raoul -- aka Scales (Vinnie Jones) -- that Peter Fleming (James Frain) has been extorting money from him, Scales heads to a costume party on a train to confront Fleming. "The Cape" and Orwell (Summer Glau), also at the party, discover Max (Keith David) and the gang are going to heist the train, and Vince/The Cape is conflicted about what to do. Meanwhile, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) and Trip (Ryan Wynott) must endure scrutiny and taunts while trying to deal with their loss. Peter Fleming -- aka Chess (James Frain) -- and the ARK Corporation prepare to unveil a special device that may alter the fate of Palm City. Tracey Jerrod -- aka Dice (guest star Mena Suvari), -- a young savant and inspiration for the device, emerges and targets Chess to avenge her father's death. Realizing he must keep his enemy alive in order to fully destroy him, Vince -- aka The Cape (David Lyons) -- suddenly finds himself defending his archnemesis. With the help of Rollo (Martin Klebba), Ruvi (Anil Kumar), Raia (Izabella Mike) and Max (Keith David), Vince attempts to master new skills and also tries to accept how his choices will affect his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott). Badly bruised and exhausted, The Cape (David Lyons) heeds advice from Max (Keith David) to take some time off to recover. Determined to finally kill The Cape, Peter Fleming (James Frain) hires a tech-savvy team, including Goggles (guest star Pruitt Taylor Vince) and Hicks (guest star Chad Lindberg), to track and destroy The Cape. Meanwhile, Orwell (Summer Glau) faces digital challenges against the teams' strong expertise and Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) becomes more involved in uncovering the truth about Vince's case. Orphaned since birth, Conrad Chandler (guest star Glenn Fitzgerald), the heir of one of Palm City's founders, exacts revenge on the public and threatens to paralyze and control the city. The Cape (David Lyons) and Max (Keith David) alert Marty (Dorian Missick) of the impending danger to the city, which backfires on The Cape. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Prisons, Patrick Portman (guest star Richard Schiff), aids Orwell (Summer Glau) in her search for the lone heir. Orwell locates Conrad through Netta (guest star Illeana Douglas), his mysterious caretaker, but soon discovers his deeply disturbing past and finds herself in danger. Elsewhere, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) becomes increasingly uncomfortable with her new social life. The Cape (David Lyons), Max (Keith David) and Rollo (Martin Klebba) are forced to rely on Dana's (Jennifer Ferrin) legal connections to help them discover The Lich's whereabouts. Heavily entranced by Conrad Chandler's (The Lich) potent serum, Orwell (Summer Glau) struggles to fight off the physiological and mental effects of the strong dose. Meanwhile, Netta's (guest star Illeana Douglas) strange loyalty to The Lich is clarified. In a sedated, weak state, Orwell drifts between reality and fantasy sequences, which slowly reveal her history and past. Concerned about the protection of his gang's city territory, Scales (Vinnie Jones) makes a controversial pact with Fleming (James Frain) and plans to bring a dangerous villain, Razer (guest star Grant Bowler), to the city. Vince (David Lyons) intercepts Razer's arrival, disguises himself as the villain and infiltrates the inner circle of Scales and his gang. Meanwhile, Fleming battles internally with his alter ego, Chess, and Orwell (Summer Glau) remains in a dreary state, hinting at an uncertain future.

Police Chief Marty Voyt (Dorian Missick) lands behind bars, in the hands of ARK Corporation, fearing he may receive the same fate as Vince (David Lyons). Attempting to learn more about Vince's dissapearance, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) takes on Marty's case, and the impervious ARK Corporation, only to discover secrets of betrayal. The Cape's double identity becomes blurred when Max (Keith David) and the carnival of crime attempt to protect Dana, Marty and his family.
