About this show

In 1795, three teenage boys discovered a strange, man-made hole on Oak Island, a small, wooded island just off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. As the boys began to dig, they found a number of intriguing artifacts. It was the end of the piracy era and rumors of buried treasure were rampant. The boys' discovery launched a treasure hunt that has spanned more than 200 years, cost millions of dollars and involved dozens of speculators, engineers and even famous personalities such as John Wayne, Errol Flynn and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

This show is rewriting the history books and not in some pseudo science way. Best archaeological show in my 34 yrs of watching these types of shows. Unlike other shows this one is real so like in real life it takes a long time to make historic discoveries. Without giving anything away they do find structures. And are able to carbon date objects they find. Its true, sometimes an entire season goes by with no major discovery BUT Despite what some bad reviewers say this show does in fact make historic finds, especially in the more recent seasons. A very unique aspect is the searchers are investing 100% of their own money into finding this which is costing them MILLIONS of dollars every year. Its the largest privately funded archaeological search in the last 200 years.

Waiting for Nick Nolte to roll on set with 2 hooks with the cast of experts on this show. Cap the hole, pressurize the hole, look for bubbles on the beach, dig til you find the trap tunnels, fill the trap tunnels with dirt, or cover them with watertight barriers. Drain the hole. Try and wrap this up before season 15. Would it kill you guys to have Geraldo standing by for the final episode, win or lose.

I was wondering when things were going to, if ever pick up in terms of funds, etc. seasons 1-6 I have on dvd. 7 and 8 I saw on and off as I have streaming - if you wait to late to watch you “miss” the episode and need to pay for it. Not sure if things picked up like crazy then but this season they are on point and closing in. I love the history too but the island is too mysterious not to have an incredible treasure hidden on it.
