Vikings invading England, you get to see both sides of the story. Uthred is caught in the middle of the war for England, he hates his King, Alfred the Great, but he fights for him, always in the hope of winning back his own family's castle. Very close to the book series, can't wait for the next season.

If you like Vikings you'll like this. The battle scenes are no way near as epic but the show overall is still very enjoyable. My only complaint is that they're going through years and months very quickly, leaving little room for character development. So far it's not bad but I would like to be able to get to know the characters more.

Key words are Fictional and right now. Love Cornwell and anxiously await the next edition of his Saxon Tales. Like who they casted for Uhtred of Bebbenburg and Leofric but still am chewing on the rest of the cast. They have their work cut out for them if they want to surpass the cast of the Vikings!! Rock on Ragnar Lothbroke (Hairy Breeches)!!
