Sue Perkins travels down one of the world's greatest yet most enigmatic rivers to uncover a story of a river and a region at the point of extraordinary change. The Mekong is South East Asia's greatest river. It rises high in the Himalayas on the Tibetan Plateau, before plunging south through China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
