Sorry, but Orville is wasting time with political stuff TOS dealt with decades ago. Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Discovery are far superior shows treating current political issues with subtle scripts and better acting. Orville is taking itself too seriously, and in spite of some good actors, McFarlane has just created a Trek fan fic film with a better budget. Great voice dude, great singing voice, but like all his shows, this is just a variety show with skits and weird guest stars.

I was expecting a bit more especially from Seth Mcfarlane I though it would be a Star Trek version of his Million Ways to die in the west movie. If only they could do less drama and add more comedy I think it would do much better. It is watchable don't gon't me wrong just don't expect it to be like anything else he has done in the past.

An update to my review as of Sept 19th, 2022. Season 3 is by far my favorite season. The first 5 episodes tackle a lot of social, political, and pill-shallowing life events. It has it humor here and there, which is lovely to have. I think what made this season, the series, what it is becoming is the 100+ minute episodes. It allows the shows to fresh out their ideas, their writing, the character building, the plot twists, etc without the very limited restrictions for 45min episodes! Love it!
