A few months on, the outlaws still have time to serve on their sentences. But they discover the criminal underworld isn't done with them yet. Thrown out by her parents, Rani pitches up at Christian's, to the bemusement of Esme. Are the young outlaws ready for their relationship to reach the next level? Finally free of his tag, Frank faces a familiar choice - fly the coop or stand still for once in his life. John has grand plans to modernise the family firm, but his father has emerged from retirement with his killer instinct intact. Gabby finds the tap has been turned off by her father, and her real friends are in short supply. Greg might be the only person in the world she can rely on, and Gabby might be the only person who can help him win the heart of a workplace crush. Myrna finds she hasn't buried the bones of the past, even as the outlaws' shared past comes back to haunt them, in the shape of a terrifying London drug lord who is out for blood.

In order to stay alive, the outlaws consider an unlikely - and dangerous - way of making money. Meanwhile, two familiar detectives turn their attention to a certain London kingpin.

The outlaws' illicit business begins to run like a well-oiled machine. When Gabby engages in some spirited activism of her own, Myrna displaces her occupational guilt by using her talent for community engagement. John finds the job market isn't what it was. Christian's old enemy receives an inquisitive visitor and, later, a painful message. A familiar (and obnoxious) face jeopardises the group's progress, placing them firmly in the crosshairs of Bristol and Avon Constabulary. As Christian looks to the future, he suspects Rani might be more into their dangerous new lifestyle than he is - until she comes through with an unexpected source of support.

The outlaws meet a cook of sorts, and an unlikely date takes place at a pub quiz. Two outlaws have a very close call, while a ghost from the past induces an emotional reckoning.

Christian and Esme receive a surprise visit from their mum, and Rani's parents make a generous offer. Diane shares her findings with Haines, who is surprised to realise the trainee special constable might actually be onto something. The net closes around Myrna and Greg after their respective deceits, leading one to turn to Frank for help and the other to finally come clean. Greg catches up with an old acquaintance while in pursuit of a spiralling Gabby, and Frank's family enjoy a lobster dinner, with Frank paying. After weeks of work, the outlaws think they've found the light at the end of the tunnel — until the Dean closes it.

Out of options and time, the outlaws must take extreme measures. But with the eyes of the public and the police on them, can they together pull off the con to end all cons?
