The Restaurant

Stockholm VE Day 1945. In the jubilant crowd on Kungsgatan, a spontaneous kiss between two strangers will have dire consequences.

Mr Peter Löwander returns from military service in Europe accompanied by a Jewish girl named Suzanne Goldstein. Peter´s mother and the family´s “matriarch” Helga quietly resents her son´s new friend and ponders on what to do.

Gustaf and Helga prepare a jubilee celebrating the restaurant´s 50 year existence as a way of attracting customers.

The Löwander family is shocked and shaken by an announcement from Peter and Suzanne.

While Gustaf is held in police custody Peter takes over the role of restaurant manager at Djurgårdskällaren.

At this point everything is hanging by a thread. Peter and Nina are struggling to keep the restaurant afloat.

Stockholm,1946. Nina and Erik are celebrating their engagement with a crayish party at the archipelago and Calle is reluctantly in charge of the food.

Suzanne’s meltdown leads to huge consequences for both Peter and the restaurant.

Stockholm, 1950. The past few years have really changed things for the Löwanders. Nina and Erik gave birth to a baby girl and Nina is currently living a calm and quiet life as a housewife. But things aren’t as perfect as they seem.

Nina’s addiction has catastrophic consequences. There is a dirty battle going on between Gustaf and Peter about the ruling of the restaurant.
