Wayne Malloy (Eddie Izzard), patriarch to a family of Gypsy travellers in rural Louisiana, takes his wife Dahlia (Minnie Driver) and their kids on the run after stealing money from the extended family bank.

To pay for their new lavish lifestyle, Wayne steps into Doug's shoes to try and charm the tweedy partners of a high-end law firm.

Wayne shows up for his first day on the job at Panco Inc. and finds out his first task is to fire his predecessor.

When Doug's ex-wife comes after Wayne for missed alimony payments, Wayne has to fix things before she blows their cover.

Discovering the demands of his new job, Wayne has to clean up after one of Hugh's shady land-grabs, while a bored Dahlia figures out ways to amuse herself in Eden Falls. Meanwhile, Ginny moves in on the unsuspecting Malloys.

The Malloys are forced to uphold their promise when Di Di's fiancé Ken arrives at their door. In a lawsuit that could sink Panco, Hartley claims it was Hugh's fault that an alligator ate her arm. Back at camp, Dale plots a power grab.

Stunned with the news of Earl's death, a grieving Dahlia and her family head back to camp. While Dale looks to settle old scores with Wayne, Ginny uses the funeral as an opportunity to tie the knot between Di Di and Ken.

When Hugh suspects Wayne and Dahlia are behind missing money from the office bank, the Malloys pull a massive con on a shamed baseball player to save their livelihood in Edenfalls.

Wayne's partnership at Panco hinges on the Malloys throwing the perfect dinner party. An unexpected reunion between Dahlia and her former cellmate causes major complications.

Convinced that Dahlia is still at risk, Wayne aims to give her a taste of her own medicine by snorting a handful of meth. His ill-advised attempt at drug intervention launches Wayne on a speed-fueled romp while Dahlia has to keep things afloat at Panco. Dale shows up in Eden Falls and befriends neighbor Hartley.

With Hugh missing, Wayne takes the reins at Panco and discovers what it's like to be the boss. Dahlia attempts to get close to her daughter, but discovers that the gap between them has widened. Dale makes his intentions known to Hartley, romantic and otherwise.

When Doug's friend Pete shows up for a visit, the Malloys scramble to keep him from figuring out what they have done. Hugh returns from Vegas with a new wife and needs Wayne to negotiate a retroactive pre-nup. Hartley warms up to Dale and shows him how to blend in with the buffers.

With visitors arriving, neighbors prying, and Dale angling for a piece of the action, the walls appear to be closing in on the Malloys. Difficult decisions loom, but it ain't over till it's over...
