About this show

Jessica Biel stars as Cora, a young wife and mother who suddenly and inexplicably commits a violent crime while at a public beach with her husband and child. Cora does not deny responsibility but claims to have no idea why she did it. Why would this seemingly normal woman commit such a random and senseless act of violence? While the facts of the crime appear to be indisputable, Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) suspects that there is more to the case than meets the eye and begins to thoroughly examine Cora's past in search of an explanation.

Most shows offer action or revenge or heroes but this show offers something closer to reality and that annoys many. The show is about a very flawed man trying to make sense of his mistakes and not really about a clever detective sherlocking his way to the solution. It's a painful path at times but for those who can see what the 4 seasons are really about and can appreciate that struggle to the do the right thing that most of us suffer through you'll love this. If you are looking mindless shootouts, clever solutions and heroes well then you won't find it. But really if you think about it Harry Ambrose is a hero. A very human hero who makes mistakes that tortures him endlessly. And that's what this is about. A conscience. Which is what a higher power is trying to tell us if we can only realize it and take responsibility for our mistakes.

Season 1 is great season 2 is ok. Season 3 is a pain in A S S. and I hope that the main character the Harry directive goes rotten in hell for his sin! He is such an old fool. And I hope really hope this personality doesn’t exist in real life. Because he puts so many people in danger just for him to act like he is good god do some favors upon some psycho people. Not recommended. I have not finished season 3. Put i hope he pays the great price then he finally has his eyes widely open and live with his sin for life. It’s the best punishment for him who has power but work with personal interest and put other people’s life in danger.

Season one was truly a five-star season - refreshing, unique, and suspenseful. A complicated story unraveling in a manner to keep the audience yearning for more. Great story, well acted. Season two tried to replicate season one. Losing Jessica Biel and her character was a big mistake. Still, it was decent entertainment - maybe four stars. Though, I found the child actor nearly unwatchable. Season three was a colossal wasted opportunity. Switching the format, from murder mystery to would-be anxiety-provoking thriller (ironically with no twists, surprises, nor real tension to speak of) was not a smart move. The Matt Bomer protagonist was an annoying train wreck, making it tough to feel anything for him. Pullman's character just made one dumb decision after another and his love interest was certainly no better. This was a very pedestrian season and an absolute downward spiral from season one. .
