I was excited when I heard that NBC was making a remake of Sound of Music, but it turned out awful! Dont buy this, the original is so much better. (There were a lot of mistakes too, like in the party scene a guy tripped on a woman's dress. Just so you know.)

3 to 3 and a half. The Sound Of Music Live! Doesnt reach the heights of the original the whole way through and doesnt have the epicness of it all the way through but its still feel good viewing and does have alittle adventure like the original, just shortned. It falls short a bit but they worked hard on this and it is not bad.

I'm a senior now, saw the original as a young girl..I loved musicals growing up, Rogers and Hammerstein's combination were unbeatable! I highly recommend others of these men and their brilliant work to everyone.!!! Those were very refreshing times because of these type of musicals that are foreign to the last three generation's ,those were wonderful times..As far as the two versions are concerned, they were both excellently done, you can't compare the way each cast member portrayed the parts they played as their styles and voices were their own! Very well done to all...Bravo!
