About this show

It began life in 1977 as a conventional motoring magazine show. Relaunched in 2002 in a longer format, it pulled in an international audience of around 150 million viewers around the world. Irreverent, witty and unbiasedly honest, the Top Gear team and The Stig take cars to the limit and beyond to find out if they're any good or not. If you want to know how big the boot is, look elsewhere. Full of stunts, challenges and special features, Top Gear is self-deprecating, inclusive and passionate, giving authoritative information, entertainment and no little style.

This show is an amazing blend of cars and comedy. Part of what makes it work is that the three guys (Season 1-22) present the show in such a way that while it's great for car buffs, their chemistry and sense of humour mean that it's enjoyable for everyone else, too. Whether you are a car person or not, the on-the-road comedy & insane antics are sure to entertain. However, while seasons 1-22 were amazing, season 23 and following have been terrible because the trio parted ways with the BBC and were replaced.

The total disregard for political correctness is refreshing. Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow compliment one another so well. Always very entertaining with a side of informative. Camera and writing are second to none. So much more than a motoring show, not just for us gear heads. My girlfriend, who can't fill a gas tank, can't get enough.

Once upon a time there were 3 pals: the big condescending one, the WWII flying ace wannabe with bad hair one, and the little gnomish one; fervent motorheads all. One day Mother Beeb introduced them to a tame racer known as "the Stig" and put them all on the telly. Thus was "Top Gear" born, to the joy of millions. There has never been a more entertaining and informative car show, and it is doubtful the unmistakable chemistry between the lads will ever again be achieved. This is truly "don't miss" fun TV!
