About this show

Meet The Rev. Adam Smallbone. He's a Church of England Vicar, newly promoted from a sleepy rural parish to the busy, inner-city world of St Saviour's in Hackney, East London. It's a world he has no experience of. And it shows. It really shows. Alex, Adam's long-suffering wife, does her best to support him, but she's got her own career as a solicitor to worry about. And she does not fit the idea of a conventional vicar's wife. Anybody can and does come into St Saviour's. From scheming Members of Parliament trying to educate their children on the cheap to Colin, a heavy drinking, unemployable lost soul... Rev. is an authentic, albeit highly comic, portrait of the life of a modern, inner-city vicar.

Episodes are all out of order! 1 is correct, 2 is actually episode 4, 3 is 2, and 4 is 3. Honestly can't get this right?! Great show though

Rev is funny by being truthful. The synopsis didn't do it justice. The fact that a number of CofE clergy contributed to its making, and that some of the last believable incidents actually happened, shows. Touching, truthful, raw. And funny. And not a bit embarrassing. But mainly funny.

A beautifully written and acted drama based on the life and work of a London vicar. I have been the wife of a London clergyman in a busy London parish and can relate completely to the characters and situations, the heartbreak and the humour. It improved exponentially as it progressed. Not to be missed!
