Attempting to reopen the IAM shop, KP and Tim are faced with a fractured staff that has questionable allegiances. Alana is back in LA and ready to dive into tattooing. Nessie and Vudu are unsure whether the shop is a welcoming option for employment.

The sit-down between KP and Lemeir brings about a revelation that catches Ceaser by surprise and leads to new alliances within the Crew. While Lemeir and Dani receive news regarding their new addition to the family, Alana opens up about personal struggles from the past year. Star and Tim try to ease the minds of team IAM as a deadline is set to recommit to the shop. This time, one thing is very clear: you either get in line with how KP wants things done…or walk away.

As the day of reckoning dawns, KP, Tim, Star and Cory are surprised by who shows up at the IAM shop willing to work... and who doesn't. Vudu meets with her biological father for the first time since childhood and is unsure she wants to hear the truth of what happened before he left the picture. Nessie confronts Lemeir about taking her ex's side when she needed his support, and what he says pushes Nessie close to the edge.

After receiving shocking news regarding the legality of their shop, KP and Tim seek help from KP's dad. Lemeir debuts his new food truck venture and shares concern with Barbie about his fractured relationship with Nessie. During a girls only outing, Star speaks about her outburst during the last team dinner. KP and Tim take the IAM crew on a field trip to Cory's home tattoo shop, the Vatican, and stage a tattoo competition. During a birthday party for Alana, a surprise guest shakes things up.

Bad news abounds as KP and Tim find out the shop failed its health inspection, while Nessie and Barbie learn that Lemeir was in a bad accident. Vudu continues to bond with her father by giving him his first tattoo. Star attempts to further mend things with Tim and KP, but the situation turns when they find out who she's been hanging out with. Barbie and Danielle's pop-up event is disrupted by an ex-lover's quarrel between Nessie and her ex that leaves people scratching their heads.

KP and Tim are disappointed to learn that their artists were at Barbie and Danielle's pop-up shop. During a team tattoo lesson with Cory, Nessie explains how she and the other women in the shop were passed over by KP for a potential client. Meanwhile, IAM is officially open and KP welcomes celebrity couple Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts for some ink. KP reprimands his artists on a number of issues, pushing some beyond their limits.

Barbie opens up to Dani about relationship issues and pushes Bone to make amends with her father. After suffering a personal loss, Ink is surprised to find out that Vudu and Nessie quit IAM. When Lemeir offers Ink a booth at his future shop, he's unsure where his loyalty lies. At the IAM grand opening, Star drops some big news on KP and Tim. After KP and Tim insult Vudu at Ink's charity event, Barbie tries to level with Armani about the drama and things quickly escalate.

KP, Nessie, Lemeir and Star each discuss what went down during pre-COVID filming that led to the current drama. Nessie reveals tension with KP stemming from his unwillingness to hire her ex, Ken. After turning things around with the staff, KP pitches a surprise trip. In present day, Nessie decides to make moves towards another shop and meets with a special industry confidante...

Ready to turn the page, the IAM team holds auditions in search of new artists. Tensions rise when Armani reveals who Star was hanging out with and a major decision is made regarding her future. Barbie confronts Bone about his cheating, while Lemeir and Danielle discuss whether now is the right time to open a new shop. Nessie is shocked when a celeb client calls KP to talk about her status at IAM. When Nessie visits Kat at Enigma to ask for advice, she receives a surprise offer.

Kat talks terms with Nessie for her guest spot and is surprised by a former employee pop-up during a high-end client tattoo. Nessie throws Vudu a 30th birthday celebration and she blows out her first candles ever. Alana throws her first puff n' paint at the IAM shop and when her mom pays a surprise visit, they have a frank discussion about Jerris. When Kat's ex-employee comes by the shop again, the whole Enigma team joins in the confrontation.

KP surprises his new artists on their first day by announcing he is going to have a party at the shop with tattoos and also perform his new track. Kat tries to reconcile with her former employee and is left feeling confused and used after some of his comments. The Mitchells welcome baby Sage to the world and Lemeir is forced to look at the relationships around him. He tries to bring Barbie and Bone back together and meets Nessie in an attempt to move past their issues.

KP debates with the IAM team whether or not to attend Ceaser's opp-filled event, while Kat and Enigma eagerly prep art pieces to adorn the gallery walls. Kat and Kevin discuss Nessie's future at Enigma, while Lemeir looks to get back into the tattoo game and hopes that Ceaser's event is the perfect place to network. After a meeting with a Compton community leader, KP decides to rep his city and show up to the event in spite of the opps.
