About this show

Once upon a time in the kingdom of Enchancia, Sofia became a princess. With her mother, Miranda, now married to King Roland II, Sofia has to learn the royal ropes! To help Sofia along the way are the three headmistresses of Royal Prep Academy, Fauna, Flora and Merryweather, her royal steward, Baileywick, and a group of cute woodland creatures led by a wise-talking rabbit, Clover. On her journey, Sofia will discover that looking like royalty isn't all that difficult, but being a true princess has to come from the heart.

As an over 40 adult, I rated this show 5 stars because of the relationships that grow between the characters as this program progresses throughout its 9 seasons. In the earliest episodes, we see little Prince James and Princess Amber gain a new little sister; Sofia, who goes from village girl to being their new princess sibling overnight! It is the development of the relationships between these three siblings that I find most interesting. It is heart warming enough to make older viewers cry as the "step" siblings and "step" parents drop the "step" and relate to one another as true and real siblings and parents. For this reason, I especially recommend this show for anyone who has a step family. This is NOT a Cinderella story, for there are no evil step mothers and no evil step sisters, only real people learning to love their new family members as if they were family all along. The bumps along the way add realism, and watching these characters work through their feelings and come out on top provides valuable life lessons for the older viewers, while the cute sweetness, animation and music will draw in the younger audience, making this show a good choice for viewers of all ages.

My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with this show. As soon she wakes up she says "phia". Sofia everything. I had to get her some dolls from the show (Crakle, clover, etc) She's certainly giving The Little Mermaid a run for her money. Or should I say my money. Haha.

I think the affect where they put other princesses in but it is kinda disappointing that they won't put in peter pan in. I meen it is fine you put the princesses and then boys in I meen put all the Disney characters in o people will awchly watch this baby like show. My sister is 5 and she says its a baby show but I am 8 and I think it is a kid show so I say it is for everyone cause it is aprop rate and fun for all kids. O.M.G. Fun for everyone.
