About this show

Documentary travelogue following much loved thespians Timothy West and his wife Prunella Scales as they navigate some of the most breathtaking stretches of canal in Britain and France. The couple have been narrow boat enthusiasts for almost 40 years. Over the decades they've helped restore the canals, bought their own boats and taken their family holidays on the waterways. In this documentary series each film will be a personal journey about Timothy and Prunella's love of boating and of each other as they approach their twilight years. Full of charm, nostalgia, personal and character driven stories, heartfelt moments and humour, the series will offer a vicarious encounter with the world of slow travel and the camaraderie of canal life as well as the chance to see beautiful countryside from a new perspective.
