Inspired to do the right thing by his daughter, he has to convince his less-than-enthusiastic parents and great-grandmother (guest star Cloris Leachman) to help him raise her.

When Jimmy "teaches" Hope to crawl, the family must baby-proof the house and find new places to store their belongings. It's soon revealed that Virginia is a hoarder and has been saving junk in the storage shed, which becomes Hope's favorite new hiding place. This leads Virginia to realize that she may have to change her ways. Meanwhile, Jimmy makes frequent unnecessary trips to the grocery store to see Sabrina.

When Sabrina visits Jimmy at home for the first time, she comes across a photo album that makes Jimmy realize he doesn't have any family photos that include Hope. Although past family photo shoots have been filled with chaos and stress, Jimmy decides to organize a family photo shoot.

When a box containing videos of Hope's mother arrives from prison, Jimmy must decide whether or not to let Hope see them. Virginia explains that children need to be protected from the truth, leading Jimmy to question what exactly his parents have been keeping from him.

When Hope catches a cold, Virginia goes into panic mode because the family doesn't have health insurance, so she locks Maw Maw in her bedroom to avoid getting sick. However, when Jimmy realizes that he can't afford to take Hope to a doctor without insurance, he figures out a way to secure a second job at the grocery store where Sabrina works.

When Hope starts imitating the dogs at her day care, Jimmy decides to enroll her in an expensive, high-end center. But the blemish on Burt's record needs to be expunged before Hope has any chance of getting accepted. However, when trying to turn Burt's past around the rest of the family ends up in a bind of their own and must pull together to straighten things out with the law.
9 Meet the Grandparents

Instead of sleeping in and ordering pizza, per his normal Thanksgiving custom, Jimmy invites Hope's other grandparents, Dale (guest star Greg Germann) and Margine (guest star Valerie Mahaffey), to join the Chances for a more traditional holiday dinner. The Chances soon realize that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when Dale and Margine kidnap Hope, and it's up to them to get her back.

Burt gave up on his teenage dreams of being a rock star because he was a parent. Jimmy feels so guilty for ruining his father's dream that he gets Burt a second chance to relive his rock fantasy with his music idol, Smokey Floyd (guest star Jason Lee), at the upcoming Grocery-Palooza concert.

When Jimmy was a kid, every year Burt would get the season's hottest toy and sell them off for money, leaving Jimmy disappointed and without the coolest toys. This year, Burt lets Jimmy in on his scheme, but Jimmy makes him promise to save one toy for Hope. Meanwhile, Virginia signs up the family to participate in the church's living nativity scene in order to gain respect from the church members.

Jimmy hasn't had any time to socialize or make friends since Hope was born, so when he meets another single dad at the grocery store, he immediately sets up a play date. But when Jimmy finds out that Virginia is his new friend's housekeeper, Virginia insists that Jimmy cancel the outing. In an effort to keep the peace, Jimmy and his friend arrange a dinner at the Chance house.

When Sabrina points out to Jimmy just how many germs are lurking around his house, the Chance family becomes obsessed with cleanliness. Finding it impossible to keep Maw Maw clean, they move her to the backyard greenhouse, but after watching some old family movies, they discover a surprising secret that has kept them healthy all these years.

Virginia's cousin Delilah (guest star Amy Sedaris), who struggles to make ends meet, pays a visit to the Chance family unannounced, determined to claim her share of Maw Maw's -- whom she thinks died years ago -- estate. Further tension builds when Delilah admits she still has a crush on Burt. Meanwhile, Jimmy babysits Maw Maw and panics when she takes off on Sabrina's moped.

Raising Hope is a new family comedy from Emmy® Award winner Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl) that follows the Chance family as they find themselves adding an unexpected new member into their already terribly flawed household.

The show was clever and the storyline was amazing. It definitely has the potential to make you laugh out loud. If you liked 'My Name is Earl' then your most likely to like this too. The best part is it was created by the same guy that made 'My Name is Earl'. Definitely recommend watching this.
