Black Sails

Lame Adult version of a pirate movie. Tom Hopper as Billy seems to have exactly one facial expression: concerned confusion. Jessica (Max) Kennedy's accent is somewhere north (far north) of the caribbean. And Hannah New as Eleanor is new all right...new at acting. The scenes between Jessica and Hannah are so phoned-in the fourth wall is all too obvious...two ladies reading scripts. Frequent pirate caterwauling sounds like an SNL soundtrack and is queued up by the editors to indicate...danger, violence, happiness, democracy pirate style, and, well, just about everything else. Some good performances and an interesting twist on the business aspects of the pirate biz are not enough to save this poc for me. Unbelievable 8.2 on imdb -- i guess its the bare chests and full frontal? Ah well, it must be just me.

I'm quite a history fanatic and although many historical inaccuracies occur in this show, it was very much enjoyable and worth watching. To be honest the true historical account is a story that you wouldn't believe if told to you. Many deaths were inaccurate and some absent entirely, but I can't be too hard on them considering it is Hollywood. A little more soap opera moments than I would've preferred, but overall a great show.

The show is really good. However, there are issues with the files. I've downloaded them on multiple devices, and tried streaming and changing the quality. All of these methods still result in freezing at the same minute marks. Frequent breaks make the story less compelling. Buy somewhere else.
