Spoiler alert. Thinking outside the box. Although I'm certainly no screenwriter, after watching episode 9 it would be interesting to find that Dr. Murphy did indeed leave. Maybe only for a while, but speculating on the dramatic possibilities of such a development, it would be refreshing and entertaining to watch the character's interactions with people outside of the hospital environment and perhaps gain and grow somewhat from those experiences. Meanwhile, I guess it would be up to the actual screenwriters to make sure that the characters back at the hospital have an interesting enough storyline to stand alone for a while, and I suppose it would be an opportunity to further develop their characters.

Autistic people were not put here to be used as a gimmik to sell a TV show. Also, Shaun was a far too understanding when a young Autistic patient was murdered by the parents in the hospital. This happens in real life all the time. The show is sickening. I Am Autistic and hate this series. It is produced by Autism speaks. That thinks the way to "cure" Autism is to abort babies who have it.

Medical shows are notoriously difficult to succeed. So now there has to be a spin to give the show an extra boost. Pure Genius was cancelled last season, and was a better show than The Good Doctor. But this show does have excellent talent and a good idea of an autistic/savant doctor and the difficulties that ensue. But to be a really good show, it has to be good beyond the gimmick, and that is yet to be determined.
