The original Powerpuff Girls were part of my childhood. The vibrant action is so good! At first, it was called Whoopass Stew! I hate that name. Craig McCracken changed it to the Powerpuff Girls. For the What A Cartoon! series, the first Powerpuff Girls short Meat Fuzzy Lumpkins aired on Cartoon Network's World Premiere Toon-In in 1995 and Crime 101 in 1996. The two pilots were successful, so it was developed into a full-blown series. If you look at the first episode Monkey See, Doggy Do, Mojo Jojo turned everyone in Townsville into dogs, so the Power Pups saved the day. That same title was based off of a Whoopass Stew pilot that the maker of the show made in 1992. Welcome to the 1998-2005 universe! Cathy Cavadini is still Blossom and E.G. Daily is still Buttercup. Tara Strong is the new Bubbles. Tom Kenny is the mayor of Townville and the show's narrator. Tom Kane is Professor Utonium and HIM. Jennifer Hale is Ms. Keane and Princess Morbucks. Roger L. Jackson is Mojo Jojo! The show was colorful, creative, and never was afraid to turn up the brutality factor. I recommend seasons 1-4 because there is SO MUCH VIOLENCE! Craig McCracken left the series so he could work on Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. Chris Savino and Paul Rudish took over. For seasons 5-6, the show moved from Hanna-Barbera Productions over to Cartoon Network Studios. The show moved from its traditional hand-painted cells and was now being colored through digital inking. Moving to digital ink would not result in a change to the show's art style. Digital ink makes the lines crisper and more consistent. The backgrounds went from these warm bright colors over to this simplified, cold-bleached out blue look. The Girls seemed to have gotten larger heads with even bigger bug eyes staring into your soul. Mojo now has these pointed ears. The Rowdyruff Boys were redesigned. The newer episodes seem to move at a snail's pace. Jokes would be dragged out way too long, and the creativity and storytelling just seemed to be stagnant. There was nothing on the grand scale of things. The creativity was gone, the art style had dropped, and the adventure was over. And so in 2005, the Powerpuff Girls series finally came to an end, and this time, it seemed like it for good. The tenth anniversary special, "The Powerpuff Girls Rule!!!" aired in Europe and Asia before the U.S. It was animated using Adobe Flash.

This show is one of the most memorable and one of the most well done shows. It's a shame that nowadays Cartoon Network don't make as many good shows as they used to. If the reboot gets put on Google Play, don't get the reboot, I've heard that the reboot is absolutely terrible.

Far better than the reboot, which relies on memes and 2010s slang, and tries to hard to be hip. This one was cool without even trying. Just stick to the episodes involving Hanna-Barbera (the post-movie ones are gag-a-day that vary wildly in quality), which are consistently good. Plus, The Rowdyruff Boys were a great concept, and was gender-bending without pandering. Overall good.
