As sole breadwinner, he knows his family will go under if he loses his job, so when he oversleeps again, desperation leads him to tell an incredible lie that grows out of his control.

Meanwhile Beth tries to move on with her life, but it isn't that easy as her mother-in-law pressures her not to give up on her husband.

Set on the shopfloor and in the offices of a motor showroom, following an ordinary group of colleagues and friends, the series reveals the extraordinary, gradual unravelling of each individual’s torrid lies and secrets which, on occasion, lead to life-shattering consequences. As time progresses, the tangled web of tall tales result in revelations, shocks and stunning confessions, revealing some difficult dilemmas that the characters must face up to.
